Egypt Sherrod is a POWERHOUSE!“ Tough love with a hug,”is what fans and clients have come to affectionately expect from Egypt Sherrod. Egypt is the CEO of Indigo Road home furnishings, and the Atlanta based Egypt Sherrod Real Estate & Design Group. Before real estate, there was radio. Egypt’s award-winning radio broadcast career spanned 20years, scoring interviews with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matin Scorsese, and the late James Brown and Princeton amea few. At 30, Egypt had been syndicated in more than 60 cities throughout the U.S.,including major markets such as NYC, Philadelphia,Baltimore, and Atlanta.Her hone stand electric delivery of sass and class quickly won over thousands of listeners, making hera household name. Egypt’s. first for ay in to real estate happened at age 22, when she flipped her first property. By the age of 34, she had flipped more than 42 personal properties, and 67 with partners. Later, Egypt’s love of real estate would lead the NYU & Temple graduate to her career as a top real estate broker and wealth educator. Now, Egypt is known as the host and co-executive producer of HGTV’s Critic’s Choice Awards nominated, Married To Real Estate. She and her husband, builder and entrepreneur Mike Jackson, made a splash on the network after being crowned the winners of the flagship series, Rock the Block (season three). You may also recognize her from hit shows such as Flipping Virgins and Property Virgins.

This year, Egypt announced a number of exciting partnerships for her new home furnishing company, Indigo Road. To create the perfect expression of her design journey, Egypt has teamed up with Jeff an International, East at Main, York Wall Coverings, Wall Pops, and more.“I believe that good design never sacrifices luxury, functionality or sustainability—it's not only possible, but essential to have them all. My mission in design has always been to prove that luxury, comfort, and sustainable design can coexist in a way that relates to everyone.”

 

As a mother of three, Egypt’s approach to interior design has been shaped by her parenthood. Harper, Kendall, and bonus-daughter Simone are her greatest inspirations:“I have zero regrets on waiting until later in life to be a mom. I’m settled, grounded, and can actually laugh at myself now when I make mistakes. No mother Is perfect. Being a mom has also helped me hone my design aesthetic to include functionality and sustainability which is important for everyday life. It’s my mission to prove that luxury, comfort and sustainability can coexist.”This mission is fulfilled in her upcoming consumer product line, Indigo Road, launching Fall 2023.

When she isn’t busy filming, writing books, or spending time with her children, Egypt and her husband can be found recording their popular podcast, Marriage and Money Podcast with Egypt & Mike, available on Apple & Spotify. Sherrod recently had the honor of ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, and was honored with a Proclamation declaring August23rd “Egypt Sherrod AppreciationDay”by the City of Atlanta for her philanthropic contributions, and by the“100 Black Women”organization as a real estate trailblazer. Egypt Sherrod has been featured in Forbes, Fast Company,Black Enterprise, Ebony, Essence, RollingStone, Inman News and Architectural Digest.
